"The time period is 1771-1824.
The French vessel “La Coquille” made its maiden voyage to
Rotuma in April 1772. The eagerness of the Rotuman people to learn from
the outside world, and the convertion of the King (Sau) to Christianity
created a time warp where two cultures and ideologies co-existed in a
unique lifestyle"
